A path well trodden
As another trip to Landsdowne Rd comes up we realise the roads between Anniesland and Ireland have been well trodden for over 140 years since Glasgow Accies first ventured there in 1872
Our founder clubs GHK and Accies have had longstanding rivalries with the likes of North of Ireland and Instonians taking us back to the very opening of Ravenhill (now Kingspan Stadium )when the Champions of Scotland played the Champions of Ulster and in recent years Hawks matches against Malone and Belfast Harlequins
Since the inception of Hawks the Club has benefited from a steady flow of quality players from Ireland who have contributed greatly on and off the pitch
Allen Clarke who was at one time in charge of the Ulster Academy used to phone for updates on his protégés
