Glasgow Uni's 1st XV travelled to The University of Manchester and lost out to the hosts 1st XV by 27-15 in a closely fought BUCS Cup encounter. Glasgow's tries came from Andy Hemmings and John Rae with Sam Bullock kicking a conversion and a penalty.

Elsewhere in the league competition, the 2nds won easily against Heriot Watt 2nds by 47-0 at Garscube whilst the 3rds lost their unbeaten record going down 23-15 to local rivals Strathclyde 3rds. The 3rds despite their defeat remain in pole position for promotion and have one game left this term when they play Heriot Watt 1sts in the Conference competition next week.
