Gary Strain reports

This has been the first of 3 weeks of Thursday after school training sessions at Victoria Park for some of the local emerging rugby schools.

Today will be the final session before the culmination on Wednesday at Cartha QP, where the selected boys will come together as a North West Schools team to play against a team from the South of Glasgow and one from the North East of the city.

At our first session we had a visit from Ryan Grant and Roussouw de Clerk from Glasgow Warriors.
The session was also attended by Warrior's Sponsors QBE who handed out t-shirts and balls for the boys.

When asked by Ryan Grant if any of the boys had any questions for them before the session, one of the Knightswood boys instantly replied "Naw! We just want to get on with the rugby."

The following schools are represented:

Knightswood and St Thomas Aquinas (Hawks affiliated) as well as Clydebank and Hillhead high school.

We are hoping that pupils from a couple of other schools will also appear for our last session.

The boys have enjoyed the programme tremendously and are looking forward to the big games on June 3rd.
