Hawks renew Newcastle connection

Next Saturday when Hawks play Blaydon an old relationship stretching back to 1998 will be renewed with Newcastle

That year Sir John Hall and his then Director of Rugby Rob Andrew visited Old ANNIESLAND to see Hawks host Toulouse and maybe cast an eye over a promising full back called Glenn Metcalfe and a talented Tommy Hayes as possible replacements for transfer listed British Lion Tim Stimpson

This visit led to a series of matches against the Newcastle Falcons Development XV at Kingston Park ,Anniesland and one match played at Burnbrae
Next Saturday Hawks will face Blaydon at Kingston Park KO 2.00 pm as a curtain raiser to Falcons playing Rotherham Titans
