Congratulations from all at the Club

We're delighted for Hawks player Jack McCready who came on for the second half as Scotland under-16s geared up for next month's Wellington Festival with a comprehensive 56-7 win over Newcastle Falcons at BT Murrayfield on Sunday afternoon.

In what was the first game for the new coaching team of Roddy Deans, Steve Lawrie and Davy Wilson, Scotland dominated throughout and were 29-0 up at half-time.

Fraser Dingwall, Edmund Abekhe (2), Cameron Redpath, Jack Paterson, Josh Eagwrs, Peter Steele, Calum Gaw and Cameron Symes were all on the scoresheet for the hosts.

Following the game, Scotland under-16 head coach, Roddy Deans said: "As a coaching group we are very happy with the performance today.

"After two training camps the boys have shown excellent cohesion as a group.

"It now gives us a strong platform to build on heading into the Wellington Festival.

"We fully understand that England and Wales will be a high level, but the squad is really looking forward to the challenge ahead."

Scotland's first game at the Wellington Festival is against England North on Sunday 5 April.
