The full card

All eyes will be on Edinburgh on Saturday, with four of five BT Premiership matches taking place in the capital and a chance for one club to make history.

At Goldenacre, league leaders Heriot’s will look to turnover defending champions Melrose in their fourth defence of the Bill McLaren Shield.

A win here would see them become the second team – only to Ayr, who held it from 6 October 2012 to 21 March 2013 – to win an engraving on the trophy that is played in honour of the legendary broadcaster.

Heriot’s Head Coach, Phil Smith, said: “Our last match with Melrose, which finished 43-44, nearly saw our coach Stevie Lawrie faint, when our defence decided to stand down for the day.

“Things have moved on and it looks like both teams have upgraded their defence while maintaining an attacking flair that has seen a lot of points scored.

Tomorrow there is also the added incentive of the Bill McLaren Shield up for grabs.”

At the opposite end of the table, the bottom two teams, Edinburgh Accies and Glasgow Hawks, go head-to-head at Raeburn Place. These games kick-off at 2pm.

The remainder of the capital ties will be played at 3pm and will see Currie welcome Ayr to Malleny Park, while Gala travel to Meggetland to play Boroughmuir.

Stirling County complete round 16’s fixtures at Bridgehaugh, in a match against Hawick at 3pm.

Released from the pro-teams this week are Russell Weir (Heriot’s), Jamie Farndale (Edinburgh Accies) Fraser Lyle (Stirling County), James Downey, Tom Ryder (both Currie), Murray McConnell and Will Bordill (both Ayr).
