SUMMARY OF WEEKEND ACTION

West coast outfit Ayr climbed to the top of the BT Premiership following this week’s round of leagues proceedings, with an away win at defending champions, Heriot’s.
In a tit-for-tat affair, the visitors eventually came out on top, winning 29-25, to bring an end to the Goldenacre side’s undefeated run.

Boroughmuir came away from Netherdale with a comfortable 32-12 victory over Gala, who now slip down to eighth.The Edinburgh club, who now sit third in the table, are the only side who have yet to be defeated in this year’s campaign, holding a record of four wins and a draw.

Melrose retain second-spot in the table after a 21-all draw with Stirling County saw them pick up two league points.

Hawick thrashed Border rivals Selkirk, 59-24, to jump up to fifth place in the BT Premiership.The Phiiliphaugh side have yet to record a victory since gaining promotion into the league from BT National League Division 1.

Glasgow Hawks overcame Currie 36-29 at Malleny Park, which sees them leapfrog their opponent’s and move into sixth spot in the table.
