As many of you will be aware, the man often described as the Heart of the Hawks, has been in hospital this week to receive a replacement hip. Hugh Barrow had a hip replacement earlier this week and is now starting his rehabilitation.

This is of, course, a bionic "upgrade" for Hugh as the previous one had worn out undoubtedly due to his dynamism.

Hugh is in the magnificent new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, a fantastic facility unfortunately located "south of the river". So far Hugh has been impressed with both the facility and the staff.

On a personal note he was in fine form and it took a lot to distract him from chat about Hawks and onto his own condition. However, he has been able to start walking in his room and his progress impressed the Occupational Therapist.

He reckons he can just about make out Old Anniesland from his 10th floor room but if not he has a wonderful panorama across the North of the City to the Campsies.

Everyone at the club, players, coaches, officials and supporters wish him a very speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him in the near future.
