A very tough weeks selection with no 2’s game to speak of we had plenty players putting their hands up for selection. Warriors have released Greg Peterson who returns after a lengthy lay off and he will replace Andy Linton in the second row. Matt Smith also returns after earning his first start for the warriors last week.

We also have 3 players who are returning from an enjoyable experience playing for the Scotland XV in the shape of Gary Strain, Steven Findlay and Kerr Gossman.

Coach’s Comments on Match:

It is excellent to be able to return to cup rugby having secured a place in the league semi-final play-offs as well. We at Hawks know the enormity of this occasion and we have been treating this like a cup final since the close of the regular season. We know our form of late has been nowhere near good and must improve if we want to continue in this cup competition and beat Gala this weekend.

Gala are playing for pride this weekend and that can be a formula for an excellent performance, so we must make sure we are ready for the physical battle that Gala will present.
