Coach’s Comments on Selection:
There are a few changes to our squad this week after Glasgow Warriors announced we will receive 4 professionals from our draft picks earlier this year. This will see Peter Murchie return to rugby after a long absence and we are excited to have him in a backline surrounded by young exciting talent. This includes his Warrior’s colleagues and we welcome Grayson & Junior for their first outings for Hawks. Greg Peterson comes into the second row and will add a huge deal of physicality to our pack, there is however a very familiar look to the rest of our pack with an unchanged front row although an enforced change at back row with Mat Fagerson injured.
We boast an extremely exiting bench this week with Paul Cairncross looking to make his first appearance for the 1st XV after impressing for the seconds this year.
Coach’s Comments on Match:
After a tough defeat against a strong Melrose team last week we have regrouped and had a good training week and have prepared well to take on a new look Stirling County team littered with exciting talent and physicality. Stirling will be confident after a powerful display against Hawick last week and we look forward to the physical battle that Stirling will present us. It is always seen as a close West coast rivalry with only a 30 min trip up the m80 to Bridgehaugh and one that both teams will be desperate to win.
With Eddie Pollock in charge of the forwards we know that we will encounter an extremely organised and well drilled pack and with Dave Adamson as Head coach they will always look to keep that attacking edge and play expansive wide brand of rugby.
