Coach’s Comments on Selection:

Once again we would like to thank Glasgow Warriors for releasing 3 full time professionals from their squad this week. The returning Peter Murchie and Junior Bulumakau retain their places at full back and on the wing respectively, with the ever dangerous Kerr Gossman completing a nicely balanced back 3. We welcome Tijuee Uanivi in the place of Greg Peterson and we are excited to see what Tijuee has to offer alongside the excellent Kiran McDonald.

George Horne returns at scrum half after an excellent display from the bench last week who partners the maturing Josh Henderson who has played a lot of good rugby in recent weeks. Davie Milne returns to the starting line-up after Paddy Kelly left to join London Scottish for the next 6 weeks.

We boast an extremely exciting bench this week welcoming back 2 Scotland Club internationals in the shape of our club captain Brendan McGroarty and Paddy Boyer. We are delighted to have these 2 very important players returning to the fold and we are looking forward to watching their impact from the bench.

Coach’s Comments on Match:

Watsonians have been in excellent form so far this year and have played some outstanding rugby against top premiership sides. They recruited extremely well over the summer and they appear to be gelling as a squad very quickly and I am sure this is down to the hard work of Marcus Di Rollo and Simon Taylor. Watsonians appear to have a hard edge about them this year and with experienced players like Sean Crombie, Euan Dods and and Craig Borthwick in their pack it’s easy to see why. They also boast a dangerous backline which is being lit up by the excellent Reiss Cullen at scrum half.

We are very aware of the physical battle that Watsonians will present us and they have demonstrated that they have one of the strongest scrums in the league. This week we have worked on being far more clinical in the scoring zones after failing to convert the many opportunities we created against Stirling.

This will be a huge game for both sides as whoever wins will stick to the coat tails of Melrose and Ayr.
