5th February 1955
Scotland v Wales
Murrayfield

Prior to this game Scotland had lost 17 matches in a row
The last time Scotland had won a match was in February 1951 again against Wales when a team known as the Schoolboy Team because of their youth won 19-0
Included in this list of defeats was the 0-44 loss to the Springboks when it was reported that Scotland were lucky to get 0 and tries only counted 3 points

The Welsh team of 1955 were a formidable group including in their backs the great Cliff Morgan later of BBC fame and an Olympic sprinter Ken Jones
The Scottish team was led by Jimmy"s Glasgow H.S.F.P team mate Angus Cameron and also included another Old Anniesland stalwart Hamish Kemp
Against all the form Scotland triumphed 14-8

With the scores tied at 3-3 following an Arthur Smith try Jimmy dropped a goal caught in time by Pathe News to make it 6-3.Further scores from Elgie of London Scottish and Nichol Royal High brought to an end one of the most dismal periods in the history of Scottish Rugby
