Last week was frustrating as errors at the start gave Hawick a 14-point lead which was always going to be hard to chase down. However, all credit to the boys they got themselves back in the mix and if it weren’t for what I felt was a poor decision at a maul on Hawick’s five metre line we may well have gone in front, and it would have asked a huge question of the opposition. Instead, they won two penalties and went up the park and scored, meaning a huge momentum shift after we’d scored either side of half-time. This week’s game versus Selkirk is huge for both clubs. We need to have both backs and forward firing as we’ve had one and not the other throughout the season so far. If we can get both units close to their best we have a pack that can cause anyone problems and a backline that have proved they can score from anywhere. However, we have to be prepared to put our bodies on the line and fight for every inch as when you travel to the Borders to play a team at home they are a different animal …” – Andy Hill (Glasgow Hawks)
