Coach’s Comments on Selection:
Selection was especially tough this week as we have had a fairly settled squad up until now. We would like to thank Glasgow Warriors for releasing Sean Lamont and Junior Bulumakau who will both play in what looks to be a very exciting back 3 with Kerr Gossman completing the trio. We have once again lost Sam Thomson and Matt Fagerson to Glasgow duty so we look to move Grant Stewart to the back row in the place of the injured Andy Hill with Scott Rodgers making his first start of the campaign at hooker.
Brendan McGroarty and Jack Steele drop to the bench this week after both making huge contributions in our victory against Heriots last week. Davie Milne comes in to partner Bobby Beattie with Josh Henderson returning to fly half allowing the outstanding George Horne to move back to his original position of scrum Half.
Coach’s Comments on Match:
We’re looking forward to welcoming Nicky and his Hawick team to Old Anniesland this Saturday. Hawick, like ourselves are an ambitious team and like to play an open brand of rugby with excellent off-loaders and support runners littered throughout their squad.
Hawick are the improving team in the league and have put in 2 excellent performances against Ayr and Boroughmuir in recent weeks. This is always a tough fixture and we can’t wait for the challenge.
